Derek Moscato is a Vancouver-based writer with a focus on urban affairs and architecture, economics, business and public policy.

He is an urban issues and transportation columnist for the Vancouver edition of Metro, and Canadian correspondent for Singapore-based Asia Inc, a periodical devoted to Pacific Rim business and economic issues. Most recently, he was a visiting op-ed page cities columnist for the Vancouver Province newspaper.

Moscato has written extensively for international publications, including The South China Morning Post, The Street, AsiaWise, Resource Investor, HR Magazine and Asian Business Magazine; and domestically for The Vancouver Sun, BC Business Magazine, Price Tags and TheTyee. He is also the former editor of the investment and finance publishing firm Stockscape.

Moscato holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada.
